God, Hope & Helping Others
May I recommend Polarity Therapy? Self help can be done also. What works for me every time are "windshield wipers", which is the name of a self help exercise that helps move the lymphatics upward from the lower extremities. One lays of their back with the calves up on a pillow so the heels are free, then rock the legs out and in (using the thigh muscles) in rhythmic repetition for 20 minutes. Using your calves as the fulcrum on the pillow makes the movement free and thus easier. It is an easy and relaxing thing to do. You see little kids do this instinctively. This creates a wave motion with the fluids in the lower extremities and encourages lymphatic movement. You will also feel a wonderful tingling in your sacrum because you are moving your CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) and nothing could be wrong with that! We would say the water element is expanded with edema in the ankles, lymphatic drainage would be a step toward finding balance. I recommend 20 minutes a day then it really helps with edema and moving the CSF. I use it to relive my own lower back pain. Plus, it is simple and easy to do.
