Hi,

My name is Michael Tillman. I'm a 41 year old black man that lives in Oklahoma. I would call myself a pretty normal guy. I love cookouts, football and hanging out with friends and family in the process. I mean that's a slice of Americana, right? As you see with my age, I've lived through the era of the Bushes and Clintons. I've learned all of their dirty little lies that they tell us "human capital" or as they see us; cattle. As you see I do my own research and I not only educate myself, but I am a college graduate. Bachelors in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix and an Associates of Applied Science Paralegal from Metropolitan College of Court Reporting here in Oklahoma City. Both of these degrees are still being paid for to this day.

As you can see, I'm not a person that sits around and "lets" things happen to me. I normally make things happen. So, in my tradition of overachievement, I obtained my Phase 4 and Shotgun C.L.E.E.T License effectively making myself a Private Investigator and also became a licensed and bonded Statewide Process Server for the State of Oklahoma. I kinda figured it all made sense. Everything was going well until my right leg became inflamed and swollen causing my lower leg to itch like crazy. What I didn't know is that I somehow contracted cellulitis in that leg that caused everything. The swelling, the itching EVERYTHING! My skin was starting to open up by my ankle and it started to leak fluid!! Now... You know how a doctor will tell you that you have some water weight due to being on your feet all day? Well... that's not "water"... That fluid actually EATS YOUR SKIN!! I opted not to send you the pictures of this. It's narley.. Now let's ask if things can get worse... Of course it can!! While dealing with this primarily by myself, I throw on a pair of shoes that I grabbed from out of my closet. Perfectly normal right? I was being rushed so I just slipped them on without socks on. How many times have you done that? Well, I should've checked those shoes. I was bitten by a brown recluse below the ankle bone on the same leg with the cellulitis infection. (remember, we had no clue at this time about the infection. We were told it was because I'm diabetic. WRONG!!! But that is further down this road). I was still working at this time as a Security Guard for a national company working 8-12 hours on my feet. At this point we had been dealing with this issue for a year trying to stop the skin loss. One day it became too much to handle. The ibuprofen was doing nothing because I was eating them like skittles. So off to the ER my wife and I went. They gave me meds to deal with the poison from the bite and something for the pain. I knew that I couldn't handle this on my own anymore and I contacted my doctor. I don't have insurance so I go to a clinic that's directly related to my church. It's call Ministries of Jesus or MOJ as we refer to it. This place is amazing. My doctor stopped her thriving private practice to help people and minister along the way. I owe so much to MOJ. The money spent on tests that your regular doctor would expect for your insurance to cover is absorbed by MOJ. Everything. So my doctor set me up with wound care at a local hospital where I've been being treated. In December of 2016, we were at the hospital for a routine dressing change when a nurse there noticed the spider bite way yellowing and smelling awful. The wound care doctor informed me that it looks like the bite had abscessed and if I left there was a good chance that I would lose that foot. Sooo... I was admitted to the hospital pending a MRI of the area. I had the test done and waited for the results.. Cellulitis and a Staph infection that was introduced by the spider itself... This was December 22, 2016! I was living with a double infection for over a year in the same leg!! My skin was so weak, chunks of it came up with the tape they were using to hold sections of the dressing on with. I was pumped with antibiotics and saline until they released me on the 23rd allowing me to spend Christmas at home with my family instead of being stuck in a hospital room.

Through all of this, my faith has never faltered. My personal relationship with Jesus is intact and thriving and I humbly as for prayers for my situation. During this time I haven't been able to work due to the requirements of the job until recently. I put in an application for the TSA as a Transportation Security Officer. I have passed all of their rigorous tests and have been given a conditional offer of employment and gave me information about my required physical. After completing the physical successfully, I received information saying that I was on a medical hold until medical records reflect that I am physically capable of handling the job. That is where we are. More than 9 months without a normal paying job kinda causes some problems. Financially. Which is why I attached my GoFundMe page that my kids begged me to create.
