Making Water from Air

EoleWater has created a unique type of wind turbine that turns moisture from the atmosphere into drinking water.  The Earth's atmosphere is full of water.  In fact, it's estimated that there is over 13,000 cubic kilometers of water in our atmosphere.

The new EoleWater wind turbine uses a condenser with a moisture exchange surface that is one meter wide by five kilometers long.  The water goes through a five step treatment system including an ultraviolet filter to make it perfectly safe to drink.  The rusulting water exceeds the drinking water standards required by the World Health Organization and is of course free of all fluoride and pharmaceuticals that plague typical city water systems around the world.

This water production machine can collect up to 1500 liters of water a day depending on the climate and has been designed to produce water cleanly for decades.

EoleWater was created in 1997 when Mark Parent came up with the idea of using a wind turbine to produce drinking water when he lived in the Caribbean.  Marc started by collecting water from an air conditioning unit for his own needs then moved on to the idea of designing a machine capable of producing water and he combined this process with a wind turbine.

After more than 18 months of development and testing in France, the WMS1000, the world's first wind turbine able to produce 1000 liters of water a day from air condensation, was shipped to Abu Dhabi for its first phase of tests in the extreme weather conditions of the Middle East.
