Parental alienation is definitely a growing problem in this ever changing world.I myself am a personal witness to this tragedy. But I do not see how they can use it to "create" a new mental disorder.Yes it should be recognized and solutions reached, but this will give them reason to put you or said child on medication that is not always in the best interest of you or the child.Let alone what these new medications they are coming out with permanently do to your physical body or the permanent scarring of your psyche that mental health drugs do to a person.
Being alienated from your child or parent should never be classified as a mental illness. Nor symptoms manifesting from a child over being alienated from a parent. Why do they want call it a syndrome? ITS A NATURAL REACTION TO ABUSE not a "syndrome" worth classifying as a mental illness. The alienators are the ones with mental illness as they are the facilitators of the abuse! A stop to the alienation and recovery through healing is what the victims need, not a mental diagnosis.Which in turn can lead to unnecessary prescription drugs.
I thought this would be a good page to "like" on Facebook seeing as I am a witness of parental alienation myself but to see this being pushed? Come on now! How ridiculous are mental health professionals gonna get? Have they not met their quota this year with how many new disorders they can come up with? Or how many people they can get zombified on all these new faulty synthetic drugs? Are they getting obsessive about creating new disorders? When is the general public going to wake up to this corruption in the mental health/pharmaceutical field?

Thank you for your thoughts on parental alienation. Raising awareness of this destructive family dynamic will help other children and paents avoid this destructive family dynamic.
However, inclusion in the DSM does not automatically mean something is a mental illness that can only be treated with medication. The DSM is full of short term adjustment and relational issues that are not classified as a "mental illness." I agree, parental alienation is not a mental illness -- would the DSM would classify as an Axis 1 Diagnosis. However, alienation does belong in the DSM so mental health professions will be able to accurately identify and address these heartbreaking situations.

It is the Ministry of NSearch that all inherit the Kingdom of God
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law....
Now the works of the flesh are evident,
which are adultery fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy,
murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;
of which I (Paul the Apostle) tell you beforehand,
just as I also told you in time past, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,
against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's
have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,
envying one another.
