God, Hope & Helping Others

The case for Jesus blasphemy.

The “Jews” [religious leaders of the day, came to Jesus with a question. In John 10:24 it is written...”How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.]

Jesus spoke many things to them. Jesus then stated this in response, John 10:30 ‘I and My Father are one’. John 10:31-42 ‘(31) Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. (32) Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me? (33) The Jews answered Him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (34) Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (35) If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (36) Say ye of Him, whom the Father hath sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I Am the Son of God? (37) If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not. (38) But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him. (39) Therefore they sought again to take Him: but He escaped out of their hand, (40) And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there He abode. (41) And many resorted unto Him and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. (42) And many believed on Him there.’

False prophets and false dreamers were put to death in Deuteronomy 13:1-5. In Deuteronomy 18:20-22 false prophets were put to death. The punishment for blasphemy is discussed in Leviticus 24:10-16. Death by stoning was required.

The Jews were correct in seeking a stoning death for Jesus but their charge of blasphemy was incorrect. Jesus told them the truth.

In Psalm 82:6 ‘I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High’. The scriptures declare they are all gods (Eloheem). Strong’s Concordance states this about the word gods in Psalm 82:6, H430 אֱלֹהִים 'ĕlôhı̂ym el-o-heem' Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty. The word eloheem refers to god(s) [of the supreme God], magistrates, angels. These gods are fallen angel gods.

The supreme God in Hebrew is: H3068 יְהֹוָה yehôvâh yeh-ho-vaw' From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050, H3069.

When Jesus states that “I and My Father are One” He was stating that “One” in Greek is: G1520 εἷς heis hice (Including the neuter [etc.] ἕν hen); a primary numeral; one: - a (-n, -ny, certain), + abundantly, man, one (another), only, other, some. See also G1527, G3367, G3391, G3762. Jesus and Father God are the same or one in the same.

This was too much for the Jews to handle as it is too much for most people to handle today. However, this is what scripture teaches us.

So not only is Jesus the Christ G5547 Χριστός Christos khris-tos' From G5548; anointed, that is, the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus: - Christ. He is Jehovah God also.

His many miracles prove Him true. He performed miracles only attributed to the Messiah. He was always truthful, faithful unto the Father and always acted righteously. He Is who He says He Is. The question is now...who do you say He Is?

It is the Ministry of NSearch that all inherit the Kingdom of God

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law....

Now the works of the flesh are evident,

which are adultery fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,

outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy,

murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;

of which I (Paul the Apostle) tell you beforehand,

just as I also told you in time past, that those who

practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,

against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's

have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,

envying one another.
