God, Hope & Helping Others
We love getting creative in the kitchen and experimenting with homemade beauty treatments. Which is why we’re fans of this DIY face mask/scrub recipe from natural beauty expert Carla Oates aka The Beauty Chef. “This simple skin food is a brilliant base for cleansing, refining, invigorating and rejuvenating the skin. It is based on an Ayurvedic beauty recipe called an Ubtan mask and can be used daily or weekly. It contains vitamin E, saponins, polysaccharides, silica, anti-oxidants, phyto-nutrients, amino acid peptides, ceramides and essential fatty acids and probiotics.”
Want to give it a try? The great thing about this mask is that once made it will keep in the fridge for up to three months. So you can always have it on hand whenever your skin needs a little pick-me-up.
Ubtan face mask For Brides
Ingredients
1/2 cup super fine oatmeal
1/4 cup of almond meal
1/4 cup of super fine rice flour (omit if skin is sensitive and only use oatmeal and almond meal)
1/2 tsp GLOW Inner Beauty Powder
1 tbsp of pink clay (optional)
1 tbsp of whey powder (optional)
1/2 tsp ground dried lavender flowers
1/4 contents of a green tea bag
1/4 contents of a fennel tea bag
Pinch of turmeric
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of mixed spice (try Herbie’s mixed spice with rose petals)
Method
Grind up lavender, green tea and fennel tea until extremely fine. Either use an electric grinder or a mortar and pestle.
Mix all ingredients together well and keep in an airtight container. This will keep in the fridge for up to three months.
To use
Traditionally this mask is mixed with egg which is very effective. For oily skin, use egg white, for dry skin use yolk and for combination skin, use a mix of both. However, I often just mix it with natural yoghurt.
Mix ½ -1 tsp of Ubtan mask with ¼ – ½ tsp of yogurt. Yoghurt is rich in good fats and skin refining acids. Massage into a damp complexion. Rinse off to use as a scrub or leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with a warm, damp cloth.
It is the Ministry of NSearch that all inherit the Kingdom of God
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law....
Now the works of the flesh are evident,
which are adultery fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy,
murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;
of which I (Paul the Apostle) tell you beforehand,
just as I also told you in time past, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,
against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's
have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,
envying one another.
