I don’t fear childhood diseases, because most of them, such as measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox are mild, and rarely have serious complications in healthy children.
When it comes to the health of my children I trust natural immunity. What I don’t trust is the 30 something doses of 14 vaccines given before the age of three, that are part of an ever increasing childhood vaccination schedule. One thing that you learn when you decide not to vaccinate your children and spend time actually researching these diseases is how relatively mild and treatable most childhood illnesses are. Sure you might have a sick child for a few days or a week or two, but that doesn’t compare to the lifetime of chronic illness and injury that can occur due to routine vaccination.
What the media and many doctors fail to tell us is that natural treatments exist, that vaccinated children are often chronically sick children, due to compromised immunity and damage to their microbiome, and how the chance of serious side effects from vaccines is far higher than injury or death from measles, chickenpox or whooping cough.
You only have to look at the measles statistics from the US to see that the real risk comes from the MMR itself, not the disease. In one 11 year period from 2004 – 2015 there weren’t any deaths from measles, whilst in that time frame there were 108 deaths from the MMR vaccine (registered with VAERS). These figures are from the CDC which keeps a weekly tally of disease outbreaks, and The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a database available to the public. It’s a similar situation in Australia with no deaths from Measles in the last 20 years. So why are death rates in third world countries so much higher in comparison? Well for one thing we have vastly different living conditions, such as nutrition, sanitation and clean water. High death rates for measles are only reported in countries where children are undernourished and lack the vitamins and nutrients needed to support the immune system. Not only is this a mild disease in developed countries, there is also evidence that it can be treated effectively with vitamin A and Vitamin C supplementation. Both the W.H.O and the Australian Government website give the definition of measles as: “a generalised rash lasting 3 or more days with fever”. When a child is given the MMR vaccine (a live virus vaccine) at 12 months of age to prevent a mild and temporary rash, they often don’t even think about reading the MMR vaccine package insert which lists the range of side effects that includes everything from headaches and fever to encephalitis, guillain-Barre Syndrome, arthritis and stevens-johnsons syndrome.
Many of us would remember a time during our childhood having time off from school because we had chicken pox and spent a week on the couch watching TV. That’s how i remember it. The chicken pox was considered a mild illness(back then at least), a classic childhood disease that we all expected to get as children and most of us did. There was no fear or misinformation around it as there is now, just an understanding that once you had it, that you would have natural life long-immunity. Now there is the vaccine (varicella), a live attenuated vaccine, which means there is the possibility of shedding, and the chance of severe side effects. There is also the risk of having the disease later in life as an adult (one the vaccine wears off) when it can be more severe. Another concern with varicella is that it can increase the chance of shingles in adults in later life, as found in a recent study. Maybe that’s part of the reason that many countries such as the UK don’t vaccinate against chicken pox.
A VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) search conducted on April 1, 2012 showed that there were 60,913 reactions reported to both varicella (chickenpox) and varicella zoster (shingles) vaccines. 543 of those reactions were considered life-threatening, 169 led to death and 6,342 had not recovered from their reaction as of the date of reporting.
Something which is often overlooked is that deaths from these diseases were already in decline long before the introduction of the vaccine, as shown in the graphs below:
(Sourse: Data – Official Year Books of the Commonwealth of Australia, “Vaccination A Parent’s Dilemma“ Greg Beattie)
“Up to 90% of the total decline in the death rate of children between 1860-1965 because of whooping cough, scarlet fever, diphtheria, and measles occurred before the introduction of immunisations and antibiotics.” —Dr. Archie Kalokerinos, M.D.
So what was the real cause of the fall in deaths due to these diseases? In all cases, it was better methods of sanitation, sewage disposal, clean water and improved nutrition. And while we are on the subject isn’t it interesting how scarlett fever just went away on it’s own without a magical vaccine to save us from it?
If there is something to cause great concern to us as parents it not the fact that our child may catch measles or whooping cough or some other of the so-called “vaccine preventable disease”, but the fact that we have no idea what vaccine ingredients such as polysorbate 80, sorbitol or aluminium (the adjuvant in most non live vaccines) do to a young child’s body and their growing immune system, especially the cumulative effect of 30 doses of them (which is around three times as many as were given to children 30 years ago). Many parents are also unaware that the USA’s vaccine injury compensation program has paid our almost $3 billion dollars, with this being only a small number of those who have been damaged.
“The greatest threat of childhood diseases lies in the dangerous and ineffectual efforts made to prevent them through mass immunization…..There is no convincing scientific evidence that mass inoculations can be credited with eliminating any childhood disease.”–Dr Robert Mendelsohn, M.D.
What is known is known about vaccine ingredients is that some can open up the blood brain barrier and allow live viruses to enter the brain. They can cause permanent paralysis, seizures, immune system disorders and other chronic conditions such as asthma. There are hundreds of peer reviewed studies that show the dangerous adverse effects of vaccine ingredients.
When a child has an illness such as measles they acquire life-long immunity from it.
When a child has a serious reaction to a vaccine they can acquire an injury that could be with them for a lifetime.
What keeps my children healthy isn’t vaccines or herd immunity, it’s their immune system, supported by breastfeeding, whole foods, vitamin supplementation, sunshine and positive emotions.
