My Funeral Service Has Been Delayed

Our Old Man has contracted a deadly disease. That disease is called SIN:  

That Sin nature cuts us off from 99% of the glory that once was before Adam disobeyed:

That old sin nature is incurable. It will never be restored!  End of Story? Well not fully!

There is no redemption planned now or in the future  for this Old Man:

God has made His decision: He says it's dead and asks  ....

"Why seek the living among the dead?"

The old man is dead as regards ever achieving anything of value spiritually. He has lost the connection to Life. 

The natural man is just a funeral service waiting to happen.  Two hundred thousand such funerals take place each

day: So much for Satan's promise to Eve: "You shall not surely die" 

God's however has a far better idea than embalming the dead.  

"What is it?" you ask.  Let's have a look:

God is no longer in the business of making this old flesh better or holier or more moral.  Law is incapable of bringing that about: It's important to understand this as many moralists believe and teach otherwise.

Many still cling to the hope that the law will  do what it was never intended to do and reclaim the old nature and make it acceptable to God. That hope died on a hill called Calvary 2000 years ago:

Yet man in his pride wants to "gild the lily" and do something himself to add the perfection of   Calvary.

"Look what I did to make my old dead  flesh pure and acceptable to God" man cries:

"Why can't everybody else do the same as I did?"  Foolish pride! And as we know pride goes before destruction....

But man's pride and man's religions always fail as "the flesh cannot please God"  

No matter how you perfume the flesh it or dress it up in it's Sunday finery it's a lost cause!

As the Irish proverb goes "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear"

 This ancient wisdom comes as a real shock to many who stubbornly resist the Word that tells them:

"The law was given that sin might increase" The Law still does what it was designed to do: Sin increases!

Jeremiah (Chp. 18) went down to the house of the potter and saw that "the vessel was marred in the hands of the potter" What happened next is critical: The potter, using the same clay, and without the clay ever leaving the Potters hands, made a brand new vessel which was pleasing to Him.

Yes God has given up on the old you but He has done something amazing: He has gone on and made a brand new creation you that is perfect. Now He has no need of two of you so the original or primitive is "passed away"

(2 Cor 5:17 ) In God's eyes the old or primitive is discarded and considered dead.  Good riddance I say!

My  funeral service may be 20 --30 years away  but believe me, when God pronounces something DEAD it's dead!

I'm a dead man walking as far as the old Vincent is concerned: Now as regards the new man. I'm alive and well!

In that same passage we are invited to observe or look at this new creation. "Lo" or "Behold" this new creation!

And as we look (according to the law of the Spirit) we become more and more like what we observe.

Since I started doing that I've got an amazing desire to just cross over and live in the new!

Simple as that but this calls for personal revelation, not merely reading an article like this.

I have discovered that all is new as we set our eyes on things above! {Col 3}  It no longer matters if I have a car, or money or a house of my own or even friends:  Hillary and Putin and Trump and Paddy Murphy are all on a level here when I focus on the Spirit. Cancer and dementia and chronic pain are subdued and bow the knee  the b

The answer to every problem. to every sickness and to every heartache and longing is found not in the old nature

 but in this new CREATION YOU: (Christ in you)  Read this a few times until it is revealed to you:

Paul inspired by God said "We no longer look at anyone after the flesh"

You see The Flesh profits nothing! What? Not even 20%? Not 10 % or  3%? Nothing means ??

This is so radical one can scarcely take it : It's radical and calls for thinking like Jesus: (Matt 6:20ff. &  Luke 12:20ff

The new you is never burdened by sickness ,or sadness , or loneliness: Never confused or fearful or unloved The new you is bursting with joy unspeakable  and is rich beyond belief in revelation and expectancy.

When digging new potatoes in the garden I noticed that the new potatoes are not the old ones cleaned up and rejuvenated: In fact I found the withered empty shell of the old empty potato still there in the soil.

The new potatoes were different and fresh and tasty: 

Similarly the new you is not the old you, though made of the same lump of clay. Not the old person warmed up and  cleaned up and washed down and given a fresh shot of super religious zeal.: Forget it: God already has abandoned any such idea.! The new , we're told is of God, not of the old!
