Spiritual Detox: Unleash The Power Of God

God's Power For Your Home & Life

Power means the ability to accomplish: Accomplish is to carry out fully, to the very end: Power on that scale belongs to God alone: Yet God shares  power with His people and His creations. We call that gifting or sharing of power by the term delegation and if you long to experience God’s power at work in your life and through you, then this article may be of benefit.:

You see there is a definite order in which power or authority flows: That order is always from the head down over the shoulders and the whole body: (Psalm 133)  We so need God’s power in our homes, in our marriages and in our schools, hospitals and nursing homes. We also so need it in our worship gatherings where twos or threes or fifties come together to seek God: So as God’s slaves or subjects we learn how to sit humbly at His feet and absorb what is being delegated  to us: That delegated power will arm us perfectly for “pulling down strongholds” and wrestling with demonic entities in the works God has already prepared and assigned to us.

What Exactly Is the Line Of Authority?

1 Cor 11:3 has the answer: “Now I want you to be aware that ….

  1. The Head of every man is Christ,
  2. Yet the head of the woman is the man,
  3. Yet the Head of Christ is God”

To understand God’s power at work all three (1+2+3) of above are necessary!

  • The head of every man is Christ

This is a very sweeping statement:Would it not mean “The head of believers is Christ: That’s not what it says: Or The head of all God loving people is Christ: No! The statement is all embracing and comprehensive and not available for change

  • The head of all pagans and non believers is Christ! ( Not Darwin or mother nature)
  • The head of every Catholic is Christ:       (Not a priest or pope)
  • The head of all Mormons is Christ:            (Not angel Moroni or any other angel)
  • The head of all Hindus & Buddhists is Christ  (He is not just one of many)
  • The head of all Pentecostals is Christ!  Not some famous preacher or Tv evangelist
  • The Head of all Muslims is Christ and Christ alone! (Not any human leader or prophet)

Christ is the Head of all men irrespective of whether they know it or accept it or not:

The sun is shining at night, even if the part of planet earth you inhabit has its back to it : See the simplicity and power of God’s word. In the bible this is not a matter for discussion: It’s a matter of fact! Many are blinded to the truth expressed here but truth does not depend on a referendum on acceptance: God defines truth and conveys it in the pages of scripture:  God still sends his rain on the just and the unjust: “Do good to all men” was God’s idea originally and that’s how He always acts: However “especially to the household of faith” also applies so that those who know and accept this truth can benefit hundreds of times as they position their lives within it.

(B) Yet the Head Of The Woman is the Man

This is God’s line of authority: God has never changed His mind here!

This is  rejected in today’s rebellion with many powerful arguments to boot.

However those under God’s rule realise heaven is not a democracy but a Kingdom

This speaks of spiritual Headship in sight of God not authoritarian rule

This headship is exemplified in the relationship similar to Christ and the Ecclesia.

It involves great patience , great expectation, great prayer and great sacrifice

Even where man’s headship is not accepted in a home  it still operates under God.

Men will be held accountable for not availing of this tremendous grace.

Women need encouragement from husbands who are living examples of this in action

(C) The Head Of Christ is God.

Forty years after His death it is written in Ephesians 1 that Christ Jesus had a God and a Father even at that stage: At the close of the New Heaven and New Earth period when The Lord Jesus Christ has put all enemies under His feet and He is truly Lord Of lords and King Of Kings he hands all over to His father: “whenever He may be giving up the kingdom to His God the father and ….” (1 Cor 15:24) and He himself once again (1 Cor 15:28)  “then the Son Himself also shall be subjected to Him Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all”.

 A little Background

There is a Divine line of authority running through scripture and presented  in very simple terms in may places: It is hidden in plain sight, in language so simple and so clear even a child could understand it.This God given line of power and delegated power speaks to us in 1 Cor 8:6-7

“Nevertheless for us there is one God, the Father, out of Whom all is, and we for Him”

The longest word there is nevertheless which links the statement with the previous discussion concerning the many gods or idols humans cling to:: Then Paul says that “For us” (i.e. for us believers). Believers have only one God! Are you a believer? Have you only one God or have you fallen for the Nicean (325 AD) confusion? What was stated so many many times throughout the Bible (The Shema “) is now here in the New Testament, restated by Paul: We also find it in Eph 4 as one of 7 steps on the road towards maturity:

Then Paul goes on to tell us who that One God is: He is the one called The Father! He is not the one called Jesus or the Holy Spirit or Mary! His title is Father: The Father, plain and simply, is the supreme God: The divine line of authority begins with Him. If we get this wrong then all our theology is skewed  and all our authority diminished. This truth is not found in religion or denominations but in God’s Scriptures: Radical? Yes! Powerful? Tell me about it!

The word God means the Subjector or the Placer. He has ultimate power and authority to subject everything under Him or to place them: “Out of whom all is” is an all embracing phrase. All power belongs to Him: All authority has its source in Him: The little word ek in Greek means out of or sourced in: The Father is the ultimate source of everything and Jesus recognised such in going to the Father for daily instructions:He said  “Truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing

This Sovereign father may decide to delegate the ability to subject or to place to one under Him (e.g.to Jesus) or to his disciples (Luke 10:19) but all such delegation implies that it belongs ultimately to God the Father:  By the end of the Gospel of Matthew (Matt 28:18) the risen Christ told the disciples that “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me”  He didn’t have that ALL Authority before that and had to approach the father for it as required.: Now that authority rests on Jesus and will rest on Him until He has accomplished all that was written in the Book about Him (1 Cor 15:24-27) Then Jesus will hand it all back to God  and He himself will once again become subject to the Father. All there in black and white for those who read.

This is relevant to us as we all came out of Him and we are all designed for Him. Romans 11:36 puts it very concisely: “ seeing that out of Him and through Him and for Him is all”

The passage in 1 Cor 8 goes on in verse 7 to read:

“ And one Lord, Jesus Christ, through Whom all is, and we through Him”

Again the language and thought pattern is simple and forthright: There is only one who has been delegated the title of Lord: Yes there are many lords but only one Lord! This one assigned the title lord is a different person to God the Father: This person is called “Jesus Christ” This person is not Buddha or Mohammed or Krishna or Mary: This is not Satan or Confucius or moroni or any angel or spirit: It is the one Lord Jesus Christ!

Anything we have has come out of the Father and through Jesus Christ: Everybody and everything was created in Christ first in spirit and came through Him.Can you see how clean and radical all this is? Colossians concurs stating  “ for in Him is all created, that in the heavens and that on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created through Him and for Him” (Col 1:16)

The Scriptures are dynamite and would blow mans religious concepts out of the water if studied and taught: Instead we have a 2000 year old fudge where  man has come to accept as true many of the systems fairytales which directly contradict the written scriptures.::

The adversary (Satan) is clever and has facilitated the hiding of scriptures for almost 1000 years: Peasants and ordinary folk were forbidden to read the Bible during those dark years . Later some were allowed read scripture but were garrisoned into set patterns of interpretation: {e.g Really one means three, or One sacrifice for sin only but must be repeated each day or The dead are not really dead at all but live on some other place etc a hundred times}

And so I come right into your personal reading space today with just one plea:

“Don’t shoot the messenger”.

What I mean is this: It is so easy to opt out of facing the facts presented above by denigrating me or my history or my lifestyle:  However in light of the day of accountability ahead of each one of us at the Bema seat of Christ would it not be more prudent to do as the Bereans did in Acts and “Search the scriptures daily to see if those things were true”

It is the Ministry of NSearch that all inherit the Kingdom of God

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law....

Now the works of the flesh are evident,

which are adultery fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,

outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy,

murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;

of which I (Paul the Apostle) tell you beforehand,

just as I also told you in time past, that those who

practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,

against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's

have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,

envying one another.

Galatians 5:18-26

{Sorcery: "Pharmakia;" Primarily mentioned as one of the "works of the flesh." In "sorcery" the use of drugs. Blue Letter Bible. Galatians 5:20}
