"One Dollar For The Wall" A Rational Analysis of Border Security Denial by A. Addy and K.T. Bernard

     If you were asked the question, "Exactly when did border security become such a bitter, partisan issue in the U.S.?", there is a good chance that you'd answer "when Donald Trump became President", and, by most accounts, you'd be correct. Regardless of your political ideology, it is clear to see that one side of the political divide seems to overwhelmingly support the Presidents' position on border security and the other side has clear contempt for the notion that any continuation of the physical barriers at our southern border should be built, whatsoever.

A stark, ideological rejection to the negotiation of any border barrier enhancements, on moral grounds, is what Mrs. Pelosi has already made clear. Is that supposed to change now that government has re-opened? Are we just supposed to wait and see if re-opening the government will make the Democrat leadership come to the table, or is it possible that a deal can be made with enough moderate Democrats and a majority of Republicans voting for a compromise on border security? One thing is likely, whether a deal will soon be made or not, it is probably unlikely to occur with any support from Chuck and Nancy.

The argument for rejecting the wall does not acknowledge that any problematic trends are occurring, yet, quite recently, we lived in a time when many people didn't even consider that we would soon have serious problems with housing, processing and assimilating large groups of unaccompanied minors, caravans from Central America and members of violent gangs with names like MS-13. Maybe these topics are already tiring to you, by now. Maybe you have decided not to worry about such things. What is likely, however, is that you are probably aware that these issues now exist in America. Unexpected immigration challenges that few were openly predicting have now become symbols of our broken system, and of the lure that it holds for those that we may not want to give open access to.

We can all agree that some people tend to worry more than others. Some are afraid to stray from their sheltered lives and others like to live somewhat dangerously. As the mass migration from our South continues, the preservation of our current system and the true role of government are being challenged. When violence, heroin smuggling and human trafficking become boring topics to our leaders, and to their followers, not worthy of a single dollar to prevent, we should all be concerned about more than a government shutdown. We all have to wonder why we have a government at all, and who it really serves.

It is the Ministry of NSearch that all inherit the Kingdom of God

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law....

Now the works of the flesh are evident,

which are adultery fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,

outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy,

murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;

of which I (Paul the Apostle) tell you beforehand,

just as I also told you in time past, that those who

practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,

against such there is no law. Those who are Christ's

have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,

envying one another.

Galatians 5:18-26

{Sorcery: "Pharmakia;" Primarily mentioned as one of the "works of the flesh." In "sorcery" the use of drugs. Blue Letter Bible. Galatians 5:20}
