God, Hope & Helping Others
Most Americans, regardless of ideology, oppose “crony capitalism” or “cronyism.” Cronyism is where politicians write laws aimed at helping their favored business beneficiaries. Despite public opposition to cronyism, politicians still seek to use the legislative process to help special interests. For example, Congress may soon vote on legislation outlawing Internet gambling. It is an open secret, at least inside the Beltway, that this legislation is being considered as a favor to billionaire casino owner, Sheldon Adelson. Mr. Adelson, who is perhaps best known for using his enormous wealth to advance a pro-war foreign policy, is now using his political influence to turn his online competitors into criminals. Supporters of an Internet gambling ban publicly deny they are motivated by a desire to curry favor with a wealthy donor. Instead, they give a number of high-minded reasons for wanting to ban this activity. Some claim that legalizing online gambling will enrich criminals and even terrorists! But criminalizing online casinos will not eliminate the demand for online casinos. Instead, passage of this legislation will likely guarantee that the online gambling market is controlled by criminals. Thus, it is those who support outlawing online gambling who may be aiding criminals and terrorists. A federal online gambling ban would overturn laws in three states that allow online gambling. It would also end the ongoing debate…

Exciting new research conducted at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Nebraska has revealed that supplementing with vitamin D and calcium can reduce your risk of cancer by an astonishing 77 percent. This includes breast cancer, colon cancer, skin cancer and other forms of cancer. This research provides strong new evidence that vitamin D is the single most effective medicine against cancer, far outpacing the benefits of any cancer drug known to modern science.
The study involved 1,179 healthy women from rural Nebraska. One group of women was given calcium(around 1500 mg daily) and vitamin D (1100 IU daily) while another group was given placebo. Over four year, the group receiving the calcium and vitamin Dsupplements showed a 60 percent decrease incancers. Considering just the last three years of the study reveals an impressive 77 percent reduction in…

In previous articles and product reviews here on NaturalNews, we've covered some astonishing superfoods. The most impressive of those have been derived from microalgae: Astaxanthin, Chlorella, Spirulina and Blue-Green Algae.
Now, a new microalgae product has emerged in the natural products market that joins the ranks of these high-potency superfoods: Marine Phytoplankton. And unlike most of the other microalgae products on the market that are freeze dried into powders, tablets or capsules, the Marine Phytoplankton product I'm reviewing here is raw, unprocessed, in liquid form and full of life!
But beware! In researching related products for this story, I've discovered at least two products in the marketplace today that sound like they deliver marine phytoplankton, but they actually deliver only miniscule portions of the phytoplankton along with lots and lots of filler. I'll reveal the names of those products that I don't recommend later in this article. You'll also get to view a video review where I compare these products right in front of your eyes so you can actually see the nutrient density in glasses of water (see below).
I'll also reveal my No. 1 recommended "Editor's Choice" marine phytoplankton product and tell you where to get it at 22% off the retail price. I don't earn anything on the sale of this product, nor have I been paid anything to review it. This is a 100% independent, unbiased review of a product so impressive that I actually brought two bottles with me to Ecuador!
Read this product review if you're interested in learning about the latest, most nutritionally-potent superfood product that can provide you with astonishing health benefits. This is a superfood that contains potent anti-cancer nutrients, elements that help reverse heart disease,…

What if a cure for cancer has been right here all along? What if the very agency charged with protecting your health is the one keeping you from that cure?
Ten years ago a former New York State assemblyman, Daniel Haley, wrote a scathing exposé on…

Ginger is one of many foods that offers protection against radiation
With radioactive isotopes detected in rainwater in Minnesota and other states, some people are looking into iodine supplements and other ways to protect the long-term health of their families.
While there are a lot of drawbacks to using iodine, there are plenty of foods that naturally protect our bodies from radiation.
Here's 19 of the best:
These foods protect the body from radiation in different ways. For instance, brown rice is high in fiber and phosphorous, which help remove harmful toxins from the body. Sea vegetables contain a polysaccharide that binds to radioactive strontium to help eliminate it from the body, as well as being high in natural iodine. Pectin has also been shown to bind to radioactive residues, and Cysteine (in onions) binds with and deactivates radioactive isotopes. Alfalfa sprouts and greens are high in chlorophyll, which has been shown to help protect against radiation damage, as well.…Continue

I wish I could say I was shocked by President Obama's decision to exempt lawmakers and their staffs from the ravages of his signature "healthcare reform" law, but I'm not.
For one, the president has issued so many waivers and exemptions to political allies since the U.S. Supreme Court mistakenly upheld the law as constitutional that it figured he would do the same for Congress. And two, back in May, the leaders of both parties were caught negotiating in secret to find a way to exempt themselves from a law the Legislative Branch passed [http://www.naturalnews.com].
Granted, the decision to largely exempt lawmakers "officially" came from a "ruling" issued by the Office of Personnel Management. But the OPM is part of the federal bureaucracy, and the federal bureaucracy is managed by the Executive Branch, which is headed by the president. Plus, it's being reported that Obama personally intervened to ensure this "ruling" was issued.
Now that lawmakers, who have touted this law as the end-all, be-all of healthcare reform, have successfully managed to exempt themselves from its ravages, what about the rest of us? What recourse do we have?
The argument to defund
The answer lies in the House's so-called power of the purse. Lawmakers can vote to defund Obamacare, because it really is the only way to keep this disastrous law from destroying what's left of our healthcare system.
I know, many of the talking heads have pooh-poohed this idea as political suicide. They argue, and rightfully so, that proponents of…

The fast-track process allows the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to "make a determination of nonregulated status for crops with GE traits that have already been approved in another crop" without a new review, allowing for a more "timely and predictable review process," according to Mike Firko, APHIS Acting Deputy Administrator for biotechnology regulatory services.
"As expected, the fast-track approval process has made it all that much easier for the USDA to rubber-stamp a host of new GE crops," Katherine Paul, Associate Director of the Organic Consumers Association, told Common Dreams.
The first products to come down the speedy new pipeline are a host of canola seeds resistant to the "dangerous" herbicide glyphosate, which a recent study linked to a litany of health disorders and diseases including Parkinson’s, cancer and…

There are days that Monsanto’s efforts to dominate the food supply through its patenting of GMO seeds seem so malicious and abhorrent, that any possibility of regular people and family farms taking back control over agriculture and our food source appears insurmountable. Yet, there are also days when it appears the efforts of activism from regular citizens is succeeding in exposing Monsanto as an ego-driven, malevolent organization that can easily be opposed, undermined and cast out.
These days a new global activist movement is emerging where small victories in countries around the world – such as India and Peru – illustrate the power that we the people have, when united, to stop Monsanto and the agro-chemical giants, and put an end to the raping and poisoning of nature and our earth.
Europe offers a few great examples of triumphs driven by anti-GMO activism, which could easily fuel the drive of citizens in other countries who are tired of seeing Monsanto seed overtaking farm lands and tired of food suppliers selling unlabeled genetically modified products.
#1 – Hungary Burns 1000 Acres of Corn to Eradicate GMO Seed
Tolerance for GMO in Hungary is slight, at best, exemplified by the burning of about 1000 acres / 500 hectares of corn in mid 2011. The…Continue

THREE ITALIAN MINISTRIES HAVE SIGNED A DECREE BANNING THE CULTIVATION OF A TYPE OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED MAIZE, CITING ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS, THE AGRICULTURE MINISTRY SAID ON FRIDAY.
The decree, which still needs to be published in the official gazette to become binding, targets Monsanto’s MON810 maize, one of two genetically modified organisms (GMO) allowed in Europe and the only one currently grown commercially.
The ban was also signed off by the health and environment ministries, with the agriculture ministry citing the crop’s “negative impact on biodiversity”.
“Our agriculture is based on biodiversity, on quality, and those we must continue to aim for, without games that even from an economic point of view would not make us competitive,” the ministry said.
The ministry said it had already notified the European Commission and other states in the European Union of the move.
“The Commission will look into the Italian safeguard measure in more detail, and we have already asked the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to assess the scientific basis for the decision,” said Frederic Vincent, the Commission’s health spokesman. EFSA is the EU’s food safety watchdog.
While GMO cultivation approvals are agreed jointly at the EU level, individual governments can introduce safeguards if they believe that cultivation could present a health or environmental risk. Those moves, however, are always verified by the Commission.
FRANCE put in place a similar temporary ban on GMO crops last year.
According to official data from last year, there was no GMO cultivation inITALY, a country fiercely protective of its agriculture, although some…Continue

Corporate giant Monsanto, known for its controversial business model, lobbying, and its widely criticized genetically modified organisms (GMOs), has officially joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, a group of powerful interests including major banks and Big Oil backing the United Nations “Agenda 21” scheme for so-called “sustainable development.” Critics, however, expressed alarm over the announcement, saying the global “sustainability” push is really a transparent plot to centralize power in the UN and enrich special interests at the expense of private property rights, national sovereignty, and individual liberty.
Despite the widespread suspicion and criticism plaguing both Monsanto and the global Big Business alliance pushing the UN’s Agenda 21, the company and the coalition celebrated the move in a recent …
